Guess the weight competition

The photo shows the competition winner, Ben Sullivan, M.R.C.V.S., from Somerset, receiving the bottle of champagne from the CPDorganiser, Sally Strachan, partner, Hird & Partners.

Also in the picture, from left to right, are the CPD speakers, John Hird (Hird & Partners), Iain McCormick, (RentonSwan Vets, Northumberland), Andrew Harrison (Three Counties Equine Hospital - formally Kearns & Rea - Gloucestershire), Dr. Mark Senior (European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia, & head of this department at Liverpool Vet School - Leahurst), & Tim Booth (Hird & Partners).

Entrants included 32 vets and nurses, but Ben's estimates came closest to the actual weight of both horses. His estimate of 650 kg for the first horse was remarkably close. It weighed in at 652 kg. His estimate for the second horse was exactly correct - 200 kg.
